Tree removal and storm response.

A dead limb over a parking lot and a tree on a roof at 2 a.m. are the same problem at different stages. We handle both — removals, trimming, storm damage and stump work — across Chester and Montgomery County, with the rigging to take trees down in tight spots without touching what is underneath them.

What actually drives the price

Tree quotes vary more than almost any other trade, and the spread is usually not one contractor gouging you. It is what each one is planning to do.

Access. A tree a bucket truck can reach from a driveway is a fraction of the cost of the same tree in a fenced back yard where everything comes out by hand.

What is underneath it. Open lawn is easy. A roof, a fence, a pool, a lot full of cars, or a neighbor twelve feet away means rigging every piece down instead of dropping it.

Where the wood goes. Chipping and hauling everything off site costs more than leaving the wood stacked. Say which you want so you are comparing the same scope.

Stump. Often quoted separately. Ask whether it is included, how far below grade, and whether the chips are removed or backfilled.

If one bid is dramatically lower than the others, ask what insurance they carry. Tree work is the highest-risk trade on a residential property, and an uninsured crew on your roof is your problem, not theirs.

What we take on

From a single hazard limb to clearing a wooded lot line.

Hazard and dead tree removal

Trees that are dead, leaning, split or dropping limbs over something that matters — a roof, a lot, a play area, a drive aisle.

Removals in tight spots

Trees between buildings, over roofs, near lines and above parked cars come down in sections, rigged and lowered rather than dropped.

Storm response, 24/7

Trees on structures, blocked drives and hanging limbs after a storm. This is the one job where the phone answering at 2 a.m. is the entire service.

Trimming and canopy work

Deadwood out, clearance over roofs, walkways, lights and drive aisles. Scheduled trimming on commercial maintenance contracts so it stays ahead of the problem.

Stump grinding

Ground below grade, chips removed or backfilled and the area left ready for seed.

Full cleanup

Wood, brush and debris hauled. The property does not look like a work site when we leave it.

How a takedown actually goes

Worth knowing before you get three quotes that sound identical.

We look up before we quote

Lines, structures, fences, septic, irrigation, what the ground can carry. That assessment is what makes one quote different from another, not the tree.

Rigging over dropping

If there is room to fell it whole, that is fastest and cheapest and we will tell you. If there is not, it comes down in pieces on ropes — slower, more expensive, and the only correct answer near a building.

Ground protection

Mats and plywood under equipment where the lawn or the walk would otherwise be rutted. Repairing a lawn afterward costs more than protecting it.

Near utility lines

Anything close to primary service lines gets coordinated with the utility. We do not improvise around energized conductors and neither should anyone bidding your job.

A direct line to the owner

When it matters most, you're talking to me.

Not a dispatcher. Not an answering service that takes a message and gets back to you Monday. The number on this site reaches the owner — at two in the afternoon and at four in the morning during a snow event. If a tree comes down on your building, or a lot has to be clear before your doors open, you're talking to the person who can make the decision and send the crew.

  • Answered 24/7 — snow events, storm damage and emergencies, any hour of any day.
  • Decisions made on the call — nothing gets escalated to someone you have never met.
  • One point of contact from the first site walk through the final invoice.
  • I am on the job sites — not managing them from a desk three counties away.

Common questions

Before you call

Do you do emergency tree removal?

Yes, 24 hours a day. Trees on structures, blocked drives and hanging limbs get responded to as emergencies. Call 610-757-8598 any hour — that line reaches the owner, not an answering service.

Are you insured for tree work?

Aquilante Industries is licensed, bonded and insured, and we send a certificate of insurance before work starts. Ask every tree contractor you get a quote from for the same thing — this is the trade where it matters most.

Is stump grinding included?

It is quoted as a line item so you can decide. We grind below grade and either haul the chips or backfill and leave the area ready for seed, whichever you prefer.

Will you damage the lawn getting equipment in?

We use mats and plywood under equipment on turf, and we plan the approach before anything drives on the property. On soft ground we will sometimes recommend waiting a few days rather than rutting a lawn you will have to repair.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree?

It depends on the municipality. Some boroughs in Chester and Montgomery County regulate removal of street trees or trees above a certain diameter. We will tell you if your job needs one and handle the coordination.

Can you just trim it instead of removing it?

Often, yes — and we will say so. Removing a healthy mature tree that only needs deadwood taken out is a waste of your money and of the tree. We quote removal when removal is the right call.
